Hand carved ostrich egg made by me. This was a gift for my Daughter she loves fairies. I was inspired by one of her tattoos.

I knew Ostrich eggs were supposed to be thick and strong but until I saw Hand carved ostrich egg by ~joechas I had no idea they could be carved and shaped like this. I have never seen work done like this before and love the careful attention and planning that have gone into this delicate and detailed piece of work, especially when you consider that one slip of the hand could ruin the entire piece. thank you, yep, it takes a steady hand and not too much pressure. I use a high speed dental like tool. The ostrich egg is about 1/8" thick and pretty strong.
